Identification 

A. Transient blue color appears at once in presence of Antimony Trichloride TS 

B. The blue green spot formed is indicative of retinol. The approximate R F values of the predominant spots. corresponding to the different from of retinol, are 0.1 for the alcohol from, 0.45 for the acetate, and 0.7 for the palmitate.
